William Beaumont

William was born Lugwardine Herefordshire in 1891 to Moses and and Emma Kings.

The family lived at Lugg Bridge Farm.  He was Christened at St Peter's church Lugwardine 27 September 1891.  He had 6 brothers and 3 sisters. His parents had two other children who had died.

In the 1911 Census William was classed as "Farmer's son working on farm." Aged 19. His father was 67 in 1911 and had excellent handwriting.

It would appear that he joined the R.F.A.    Service number 146314 but when he was killed in action his regiment was the Herefordshire Regiment 1st Battalion.  His new Service number was 239076.  He was killed in the Third battle for Gaza on 6 November 1917.  Buried in Beersheba Cemetery.

William was 26 years of age when he was killed.
